Finance around your business

Keep the fleet working. Plan the funding properly.

A new contract can mean another vehicle is needed before the first invoice is paid. A replacement truck may need to arrive before the old one leaves service. We discuss the vehicle, your trading position and the delivery timetable together so the funding fits the purchase.

We are an independent broker based in Kent, supporting UK limited companies. Send us a supplier quotation or vehicle listing and we will explore suitable lenders on our panel. You deal with a person who can explain the initial payment, repayment schedule and next steps.

Finance is subject to status and lender approval. Deposits, rates, terms and any guarantees depend on your business, the asset and the lender.

What we can help fund

The right asset for the work ahead.

Tractor units

New and used units for haulage and distribution. Include the make, model, age, mileage and axle configuration so we can discuss the vehicle and proposed term with suitable lenders.

Rigid and specialist trucks

Box trucks, curtainsiders, tippers, refrigerated vehicles and other commercial bodies. Give us details of the chassis, body and any mounted equipment so the complete asset can be assessed.

Trailers and fleet additions

We can discuss trailers, several vehicles or purchases arriving in stages. Share the supplier information and payment timetable early, especially where a contract depends on delivery.

Your funding options

Ownership or use. Understand the difference.

01

Hire purchase

Spread the purchase cost through an agreed repayment schedule. Ownership can pass to your business once all contractual payments and any option-to-purchase fee have been paid.

Ask us to set out the initial payment, monthly cost, fees and any final payment together, so you can compare the full commitment.

02

Finance lease

Your business uses the asset in return for rentals, while the finance provider retains ownership. End-of-term arrangements depend on the agreement and should be understood before you sign.

We can explain the initial rental, ongoing payments and the options available when the primary term ends.

Explore the detail in our hire purchase, finance lease and contract hire comparison and VAT on asset finance guide.

Make the purchase work

Look beyond the monthly payment.

Working life and utilisation

Annual mileage, the work the vehicle will do and its age at the end of the proposed agreement matter. A used truck may require a different structure from a new vehicle.

Cash beyond the purchase

Allow for maintenance, insurance, tyres and the cash needed to operate new work. Compare the full payment schedule and any final payment alongside expected trading income.

Supplier and delivery timing

Provide the quotation, seller details and any deposit deadline before committing. Auction deadlines, imports or staged payments may need additional lender checks.

Start with the essentials

What to send us.

A supplier quote or listing is a useful starting point. We will confirm which supporting documents the lender needs.

A clear next step

How it works with DCF.

  1. 01

    Share the vehicle

Send the quotation or listing and tell us what the truck will do for the business.

  2. 02

    Compare the structure

We discuss the initial payment, agreement type and proposed term, then explore lender options.

  3. 03

    Complete the application

We explain the lender's requirements, decision and any conditions before signing.

  4. 04

    Coordinate the purchase

Once the lender's conditions are met, funding and supplier payment can be arranged.

Your questions answered

Truck and HGV finance: frequently asked questions

Can DCF arrange finance for a used HGV?

Yes, used trucks and tractor units can be considered. The lender will assess the vehicle's age, mileage, condition and value, the seller and your business. Terms vary by vehicle and lender.

Can you help finance several trucks at once?

We can discuss a multi-vehicle purchase or phased fleet expansion. Supply the vehicle schedule, prices, suppliers and delivery deadlines so we can explore funding for the overall requirement.

Do you finance trailers and specialist trucks?

We can explore funding for trailers and specialist commercial vehicles. Lender choice depends on the complete asset specification, its value, supplier and intended use. A detailed quotation is a useful starting point.

Can a newly established haulage company apply?

You can ask us to review the options. Limited trading history may affect lender choice and the documents, initial payment or guarantees required. There is no automatic approval.

Can I finance a truck listed on Trucksalot?

Send DCF the Trucksalot advert link and your company details. We can discuss funding separately from the vehicle purchase. A listing is not a finance approval, and the supplier's vehicle details and availability still need checking.

Will there be a balloon or final payment?

Some agreements may include a larger final payment, while others spread repayments differently. Availability and the amount depend on the lender and asset. We will explain the full payment schedule so you can assess the final commitment.
