Who We Are
Direct Commercial Finance Ltd (Company No. 07842552) ("DCF", "we", "us", "our") is a commercial finance broker registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at No.9 Magazine B, Ordnance Yard, Upnor Road, Lower Upnor, Rochester, Kent, ME2 4UY.
We arrange commercial finance — including asset finance, invoice finance, vehicle and asset sourcing, commercial loans and mortgages, and vendor finance — on behalf of UK limited companies, working across a panel of lenders rather than for any single one. DCF is a credit broker, not a lender, and is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have.
What Information We Collect
We collect information you give us directly — for example when you request a quote, submit an enquiry, apply for finance, or contact us by phone, email or through our website. This can include your name, job title, business name and company registration number, contact details, and information about the finance you're looking for (such as the asset, funding amount, and business turnover).
Where an application progresses, we may also collect financial information necessary to place your application with a lender — such as company accounts, bank statements, and details relevant to a credit assessment.
We also collect some information automatically when you visit our website, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and how you interact with our pages, via cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to respond to enquiries and provide quotes, to assess and place finance applications with suitable lenders on our panel, to verify business details (for example via Companies House), to manage our relationship with you including customer service and account administration, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations (including anti-money-laundering and fraud-prevention checks).
With your consent, or where you haven't opted out, we may also use your details to let you know about other products or services that may be relevant to you.
Our Legal Basis for Processing
We rely on different legal bases depending on the activity: performance of a contract (or to take steps at your request before entering into one) when arranging finance; our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, including preventing fraud and understanding how our website is used; compliance with a legal obligation, for example around anti-money-laundering checks; and consent, where we ask for it, such as for some marketing communications and non-essential cookies.
Who We Share Your Information With
To arrange finance we may share relevant information with lenders on our panel, credit reference and fraud-prevention agencies, and professional advisers (such as accountants or solicitors) where they're involved in your application.
We may also share information with service providers who support our business, such as IT, hosting, email and analytics providers, acting on our instructions and under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms.
We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, or a valid request from a public authority. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to service any finance arranged, to meet our legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations, and to deal with any queries or disputes. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and whether an application proceeds to a funded agreement; where information is no longer needed we securely delete or anonymise it.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help it function properly, to understand how visitors use the site, and — with technologies such as Meta Pixel — to help us measure and improve our marketing. You can control or disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information protected and to limit access to those who need it to do their job.
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to ask us to transfer information you've provided to another organisation in certain circumstances; and, where we rely on consent, to withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you have concerns about how we've handled your information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or regulatory reasons. We'll post any changes on this page, and where appropriate let you know some other way.
