The practical answer
It may be harder, particularly where condition and remaining life cannot be established from other evidence.
Ask the seller for inspection reports, maintenance invoices, hours or mileage, photographs and any manufacturer records. Disclose what is missing rather than describing incomplete records as a full history.
A lender may request a valuation, inspection or decline the asset. Factor the increased repair uncertainty into the business’s own decision even if a funding option can be found.
Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.
What should I do next?
Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
