Auctions, private sales & used assets

Can I finance a vehicle bought from a private seller?

Potentially. Private sales often require extra evidence around ownership, identity, asset provenance, value and payment instructions.

The practical answer

Potentially. Private sales often require extra evidence around ownership, identity, asset provenance, value and payment instructions.

Provide the vehicle identity, seller details, price and available purchase records. Disclose outstanding HP or other finance so settlement and title release can be arranged.

The payment route needs lender approval. Do not transfer the full price on a promise that the seller will clear existing finance later.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
