New contracts & business growth

Is a letter of intent enough to support equipment finance?

It can provide context, but it may not offer the same evidence as an executed contract and does not guarantee funding.

The practical answer

It can provide context, but it may not offer the same evidence as an executed contract and does not guarantee funding.

Explain what is binding, what remains conditional and when a final contract is expected. Provide existing trading information and a forecast that does not treat uncertain orders as assured revenue.

Ask the lender what evidence it requires before funding. Be cautious about non-refundable asset orders if the work itself has not yet been confirmed.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
