The practical answer
Start with the lender’s accepted asset value, then account for existing settlement and the new lender’s funding terms and charges.
For example, an asking price or original invoice is not necessarily the current accepted value. Even where value exceeds settlement, a lender may not advance the full difference.
Ask for a proposal showing gross funding, old-lender settlement, fees and net cash released. The amount the company receives can be much lower than the headline asset value.
Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.
What should I do next?
Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
