New companies & lender requirements

Can a signed contract replace the need for a deposit?

Not automatically. A contract can support the business case, but initial-payment requirements depend on the complete lender proposal.

The practical answer

Not automatically. A contract can support the business case, but initial-payment requirements depend on the complete lender proposal.

Provide the contract, payment terms, notice provisions and expected margins after operating costs. Explain the company’s cash position and what happens if the customer pays late or the work ends.

The lender may still require a deposit or other support. Avoid committing to the asset on the assumption that a large contract value guarantees full-cost funding.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
