Fleets & multiple vehicles

Does replacing a fleet differ from financing extra vehicles?

Yes. Replacement may remove existing payments, while expansion usually adds commitments before the new work has generated cash.

The practical answer

Yes. Replacement may remove existing payments, while expansion usually adds commitments before the new work has generated cash.

For replacements, list old vehicle settlements, disposal allowances and delivery dates for the new vehicles. Identify any period when both sets of finance payments and operating costs overlap.

For expansion, show expected revenue, drivers, insurance and mobilisation cash. A like-for-like vehicle count does not always mean an unchanged monthly cost if prices, terms or deposits have moved.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
